Asociația Reiki Usui® – România (Romania)

The story of the Associatia Reiki Usui® began in the fall of 2006, when 10 friends and Reiki teachers, after 12 years of Reiki practice, would have liked to spend more time together experiencing Reiki.

Asociatia Reiki Usui® was established with the desire to support the community, to participate in improving the quality of life, and to have an organized framework for Reiki activities. The Reiki Usui Association® is a registered trademark since 2009 and provides Reiki services both to members and supporters of the organization and to people outside of the organization.

In 2012, the Asociatia Reiki Usui® established the Reiki House, with the purpose of providing a physical space for everyday Reiki practice and volunteer activities. Here they practice Reiki for both their benefit and the benefit of patients. After Reiki courses, students receive a 3-month practice subscription, so they can come to practice with the Reiki master they graduated with.

Since 2014 Asociatia Reiki Usui® has various Western and Japanese Reiki schools present: Usui Shiki Ryoho, Gendai Reiki Ho, Komyo Reiki Kai, etc. It is a coexistence based on mutual respect, with each Reiki school following the teachings of its own Reiki method and the teachings of their master or sensei. They don’t mix the teachings or groups. The goal is to offer freedom for each Reiki school, but to keep the balance between them, respecting the unique path of each. At the meetings of the Association, no single Reiki group pushes its practice or method, but they do together, as a common practice, the Reiki exercises of sensei Usui (such as self-healing, Reiki meditation on the five Reiki principles, purification of the body and mind, etc.). In this way, they stay connected to each other through Reiki and in harmony.

At all meetings, they emphasize the values on which they built the Reiki community: gratitude, modesty, love, compassion and respect, daily Reiki self-practice, and the five principles of Reiki (Gokai).

Most of the Reiki teachers within the Asociatia Reiki Usui® have also taken Reiki courses in Japan.

Today, in Asociatia Reiki Usui®:

A) can meet again in person and have Reiki sessions and practice at Reiki Houses in five cities. In addition, they also have virtual Reiki shares and circles, and they are careful to keep the balance between physical and virtual meetings for Reiki practitioners. they intend to develop the activity at Reiki House, and increase the number of volunteers in other parts of Romania.

B) has collaborations/ partnerships with other smaller Romanian organizations and Reiki groups.

C) represent the interest of both Reiki individuals and Reiki businesses. They hold space for Reiki activities, but the Association doesn’t give courses, accreditations or any over certifications, etc.

D) does ONLY Reiki (no other methods). But members, as individuals, do what they want in their private practice, and in their business, which is their responsibility. The Reiki beneficiaries who ask for Reiki sessions at the Association, seems to be happy that we do only Reiki and that they feel very safe and have the comfort that nobody does not introduce thoughts, and does not take control over their body or life, etc.

Established in 1997, the Australian Reiki Connection is Australia's leading Reiki Association. They are a national, not-for-profit Association run by members for members providing a community for non-professional members, Professional Reiki Treatment Practitioners and Professional Reiki Teachers.

ERG is mainly for the official representatives of national European Reiki Associations which are inclusive, but also for other groups or associations. United Reiki Association in Sweden was founded in 2006 as a venue for Reiki practitioners. Within a couple of years Reiki was considered a part of wellbeing, which allowed employees all over the country to get Reiki treatments within their health care.

They have also developed course criteria, created an easy-share-blog to show what Reiki can help you with and created platforms that makes it easier for our members to be found by those who are interested in Reiki.

Full Circle Fund Therapies (U.K.) (Connecting Reiki with Medicine)

Their aim is to introduce, evaluate and research Reiki in clinical practice. This simple hands-on therapeutic system can be helpful to both the body and mind. There is evidence that energy-based therapies can help ease patients’ pain (Evanoff and Newton 1999; Turner et al., 1998; Baldwin et al., 2017).

The project aims to add to the understanding of how Reiki improves patients’ quality of life by collecting case studies, undertaking evaluations and supporting further research. The information they collect will then support the use of Reiki at St George’s Hospital and other clinical settings.

From the charity’s original base at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of London’s leading teaching hospitals, Reiki has been introduced as an evidence-based practice. In line with Full Circle’s ethos its progress will be continuously evaluated to support patient care.

Through Full Circle’s research committee, which includes medical consultants and researchers, and their established links with research institutions in the UK and elsewhere, the charity aims to disseminate findings of how Reiki may help in hospitals, including supporting families and very sick children on the pediatric wards.

It is also intended to look at how Reiki supports cancer, sickle cell and palliative care patients.

The pilot Reiki project at St George’s is just the beginning. Full Circle Fund Therapies is creating a transferrable clinical training and mentoring program which allows Reiki practitioners to work on acute and high dependency units in a way which can be accepted by the medical professions.

Training is taking place on the bone marrow and transplant wards, and is planned as well for pediatric medicine.

GRN is a non-profit organization approved by the Japanese government. The purpose of the organization is to provide society with opportunities to experience Reiki as a lifelong learning, along with correct information about Reiki, and to contribute to realization of a healthy, happy and harmonious society. As part of the activities, they provide learning opportunities of Reiki for the general public and advanced workshops for Gendai Reiki practitioners.

The NPO Gendai Reiki Network is a global Reiki organization consisting of more than 200 Gendai Reiki practitioners from about 28 countries around the world. The members enjoy learning from each other beyond national borders and language barriers, and aim for self-improvement and social contribution.

In 2010, six Reiki practitioners met at Angela Zellner’s home in Allgäu and initiated the idea of a professional association. Within a year, the enthusiasm in the German Reiki community grew. More and more interested people joined the foundation in regular meetings.

The Reiki Association (TRA) was established in the UK in 1991. British in origin, it is open to those with Reiki around the world. It grew out of a desire from Reiki students and Masters to be active in the support of Reiki and to create a Reiki community. TRA is now a vibrant association serving its members in the UK and overseas bringing a valuable sense of connection and of being part of a wider Reiki community.

There are now many variations of Reiki. Membership is open to Reiki students who have been initiated into Reiki in the physical presence of their Master. The core system of TRA is Usui Shiki Ryoho in the lineage Usui, Hayashi, Takata, Furumoto, Reindl. This Reiki system was passed down by Hawayo Takata to her granddaughter Phyllis Furumoto, and then to Phyllis' chosen successor, Johannes Reindl.

TRA is a not-for-profit organization. An elected Council of up to 6 people, who each hold office for 3 years, manage the general business. The work is carried out by the Circle of Service, some of whom are volunteers and some are paid part time staff. They welcome volunteers to join the Circle of Service.

TRA supports the public and professional practice of Reiki and is a member of the Reiki Council. They are involved in the development of approved courses for practitioners and the recognition of standards of practice. TRA provides Verification services for practitioners, leading to CNHC registration.

The Association is not just here for those working as Reiki practitioners, they also foster the ‘folk art’ or informal practice of Reiki for people who treat their family and friends or even perhaps just themselves. ALL aspects of Reiki practice are important for them: folk art/student practice, public practice and professional practice.

Reiki Centers of America is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded to make accessible authentic Reiki instructions, techniques, and the stories of early Masters for modern audiences. The Reiki Council is the lead advisory body for Reiki practitioners in the UK. Through its member associations it represents the views of people giving Reiki to the public across the UK. The Reiki Council is non-profit-making organization that sets standards and guidelines, provides information and advice. The Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG) was formed in 2002 being established as the Reiki Council in July 2008.

The Reiki Council aims to offer a platform for all styles of Usui Reiki and its guidelines are non-style-specific. Their story started way back in 1997 when they opened up the Reiki Store and launched the very first online professional Usui Reiki online training programs to many thousands of Reiki students around the world before organically growing and developing into the Reiki Healing Association when we saw an urgent need to support the incredible work of Practicing Reiki Professionals who were practicing and teaching Reiki.

The Reiki Healing Association was established in 2015 to provide a safe and trusted support network for Reiki Professionals. Reiki Medic-Care supports the wellbeing of hospital doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, midwives and ambulance paramedics. Reiki Medic-Care was originally inspired in the summer of 2019 by a conversation between a Reiki team and a matron at one of the UK’s busiest teaching hospitals and trauma centers. The matron wanted to find a way to give Reiki support to her nurses, recognizing that finding the time for hands-on treatments was the greatest hurdle. The Reiki Share Project is dedicated to providing Reiki classes to groups of individuals and caregivers facing serious illness, disability, or trauma. The Reiki Association Circle is one of the oldest groups with more than 500 members one of the largest groups for Reiki Masters and Reiki practitioners in the Netherlands.

Although the association focuses on Reiki Masters and Reiki teachers, anyone who has taken at least a Reiki 1 level course can become a member of the Circle.
